Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alicate American!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

American gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Potts jumps guard but American turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Potts is trying to work for a single leg takedown but American pulls him back up using the underhooks.

American pulls guard effortlessly.
American can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Potts controls the pace.
American working a defensive guard here.
American keeping moving, preventing Potts from controlling successfully.
American is trying to keep Potts in close.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Potts with a poor takedown
and American counters with a series of strikes. Potts will be more careful next time no doubt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paul Potts. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Potts is breathing heavily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Potts takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

American has Potts up against the cage in a clinch.

American ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. American no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

American working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Potts doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Potts manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Potts might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Potts slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
American is not content to let Potts control the position.
American is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Potts has just dragged him back down to the mat.
American wants to control but Potts postures up.
Potts moves into full mount!

American can't escape the position.
Potts throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Potts prevents American from getting the reversal.
Potts punishing his opponent with strikes.
American keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Potts cracks American with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
American has given up his back here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Potts tries to keep control of the position but American is staying busy.

Potts has managed to slip his arm under American's chin. This could be all over... yep, American is tapping out! Submission win for Potts.
