Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Andre Bell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucifer Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bell comes to the cage accompanied by Remember the Name-Fort Minor. Johnson has chosen The Devil's Own as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Andre Bell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lucifer Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Elvis Blanc and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Johnson darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Johnson controlling the pace.
I looks like Johnson might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Johnson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Johnson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bell keeps working.
Johnson not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Johnson perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Bell is refusing to be controlled, as Johnson sits in half guard.
Bell wants to get back to full guard.
Johnson controlling the action here.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Bell wants to get back to full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Bell lands a jab to Johnson's midsection.
Bell throws a series of punches but Johnson moves out of range.

Bell keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.


It looks like Lucifer Johnson has been cut.

Johnson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Bell utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Bell can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Johnson controls the pace.

Johnson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Bell is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Johnson, into his guard.
Johnson wants to sweep here but Bell controlling him for the moment.

Bell controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Johnson keeping moving, preventing Bell from controlling successfully.
Bell is really struggling to control Johnson but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Johnson looking to control but Bell passes into half guard.
Johnson is not content to let Bell control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Lucifer Johnson will probably get the nod.

Bell swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A lazy left from Bell finds it's target.
Bell misses with a double jab.
Bell throws a series of punches but Johnson moves out of range.

Johnson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bell sprawls well initially but Johnson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Johnson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Johnson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Johnson is trying to control the action in half guard but Bell is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Johnson is breathing heavily.

Johnson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Bell is controlling Johnson's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Bell tries to get to full guard but Johnson has control of the leg.
Johnson thows a huge punch but Bell dodges it nicely.
Bell avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Johnson.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
A combination from Bell does no damage.
Johnson throws a leg kick which misses Bell's front leg but catches the back leg as Bell tries to avoid it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Johnson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bell.
Johnson avoids a punch combination nicely.
Bell misses with a few strikes there.

Johnson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Johnson wants to control from the top but Bell keeps moving.
Johnson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Johnson won't allow Bell to sweep him here.

Johnson wants to stand but Bell is controlling his posture from full guard.

Johnson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Johnson has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Bell is proving hard to escape from.
Johnson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Johnson postures up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Bell throws a head kick but Johnson moves out of range.
Bell sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Bell misses with the combination.
Bell misses with a few strikes there.
Bell will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Bell tries to clinch up.

Johnson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Johnson lands in his opponent's guard.
Bell keeping moving, preventing Johnson from controlling successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lucifer Johnson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Johnson throws and low kick but Bell moves out of range easily.
A head kick misses from Bell.
Johnson showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Bell.
Johnson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Bell.
A combination from Bell does no damage.
Bell throws a right hand that Johnson ducks under and follows up with a left that Johnson also avoids with ease.

Johnson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Johnson decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Johnson slips a jab and a cross from Bell.
Bell swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Johnson.
Johnson slips a jab and a cross from Bell.
Bell takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Johnson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Bell misses with a double jab.
Andre Bell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bell throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Johnson colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Bell as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Johnson is left battered and dazed whilst Bell and his camp cheer!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:01 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Andre Bell!
