Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Will Beacon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Blankinship (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryan Blankinship will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Joseph Jones and Chad Campbell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Beacon darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Blankinship pushes Beacon off looking to stand but Beacon dives back in and keeps control.
Beacon content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Beacon stands up out of the half guard.
Blankinship digs a good hook to Beacon's body.
Beacon throws a body punch but Blankinship moves out of range.
Beacon shoots in for a double leg but Blankinship sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

and Beacon counters with a two punch combo.

Beacon dives in for a single leg takedown but Blankinship sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Beacon is pressed up against the cage. Blankinship has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Beacon down to the mat. Beacon avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Blankinship lands a nice shot that snaps Beacon's head back.

Beacon changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Blankinship tries to avoid it but Beacon manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Blankinship to the ground. Blankinship escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Blankinship clobbers Beacon with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Beacon shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Blankinship as he avoids it easily.
Blankinship scores with a jab.
No joy there for Blankinship, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Blankinship looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Beacon.

Will Beacon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Beacon fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Will Beacon will probably get the nod.

Blankinship feints a jab promting Beacon to slip. Blankinship then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Beacon slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Beacon looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Blankinship is fending him off so far but Beacon persists. Nope, Blankinship circles away and we're back to standing.

I would just about give that final round to Ryan Blankinship.
