The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Chad Campbell and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
GM lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
GM throws a right and a left that both miss.
GM lands with an overhand left.
Semerkhet definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Semerkhet avoids the body shot from GM.
A nice leg kick lands there from Semerkhet.
Simon GM seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
GM digs a good hook to Semerkhet's body.
GM lands a two punch combo.
Semerkhet keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Semerkhet fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
GM shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Semerkhet eats them both and turns towards GM to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Semerkhet buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
A slow jab from Semerkhet misses its intended target.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
GM misses with a double jab
and Semerkhet counters with a body kick that stops GM in his tracks momentarily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Sloppy strikes from Semerkhet. Those never looked like landing.
GM lands a really nice looking cross but Semerkhet seems unphased.
Semerkhet misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from GM.
GM misses with a double jab.
Semerkhet dodges the punch combination from GM.
Semerkhet throws a series of strikes that have GM backpedaling.
It looks like Simon GM has been cut.
GM lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Semerkhet misses with the combination.
GM throws a series of punches but Semerkhet moves out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
GM doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
GM scores with a one two! Semerkhet had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
GM misses with a hook.
Whack! Semerkhet lands a heavy head kick that drops GM. The ref tackles Semerkhet to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because GM was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Malakai Semerkhet!

Malakai Semerkhet very nearly forgot to thank Backyard Fighting amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
