Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bryan Lester (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Devereux Digard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Digard has chosen Les Rongeurs - La Chasse Est Ouverte as his entrance music. Bryan Lester has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bryan Lester!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Devereux Digard!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Colin Fotheringham and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lester tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Digard has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Lester wants to hold on but Digard pushes him away.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Digard closes the distance and clinches up with Lester, looking for a takedown. Digard pushes Lester against the cage but Lester circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lester seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Digard does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Lester stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Digard to get to his feet.

Digard shoots in and drives through. Lester sprawls well.
Lester shoots in looking for a takedown. Digard tries to sprawl out of it but Lester keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Digard manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Digard throws a leg kick that misses.
No luck for Lester with that takedown attempt.
Lester tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Digard swivels and escapes.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Lester is trying hard to land a takedown here. Digard sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Digard shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Digard was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

A close second round but Devereux Digard will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Digard looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lester is fending him off so far but Digard persists. Nope, Lester circles away and we're back to standing.
Lester looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Lester shoots in but Digard avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Digard lands with a nice combination. Lester backs away looking to recover.


It looks like Bryan Lester has been cut.
Lester shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Digard pinned against the cage. Digard gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Digard is looking to land body kicks.
Digard closes the distance and clinches up with Lester, looking for a takedown. Digard pushes Lester against the cage but Lester circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Lester avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Digard shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lester sprawls well. Lester wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Digard gets slowly back to his feet.

Lester misses with a takedown attempt - Digard sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Digard dives in and grabs Lester's left leg, looking for a takedown. Lester pushes down on Digard's head and hops out.

Lester changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Digard looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Lester is trying to get an arm triangle but Digard is defending well.
Lester tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

Lester tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Digard tries to improve position but can't.
Digard is pushing Lester's head away, looking to escape. Lester manages to hold on to the position though.

Lester stands up.
Lester pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Lester tries to score a power double leg takedown but Digard sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lester somewhat.
Lester shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Digard defends it nicely.

Digard closes the distance and pushes Lester back into the cage.

Lester can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Digard controls the pace.

Lester working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Digard has passed into half guard!
Lester is trying to maintain the position but Digard is very close to passing his half guard.
Bryan Lester has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Lester is looking to escape.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Lester tries to kick Digard off in order to stand up. Digard Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Devereux Digard is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
You can see the frustration on Lester's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Bryan Lester.
I think Digard has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
