Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Del Hickman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nagib Holgersen!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Gwen Towbar and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Holgersen changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hickman looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Holgersen tries to stand but Hickman is controlling his head.
Holgersen lands some shots froms side control.
Hickman manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Holgersen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hickman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Hickman wants to control the pace but Holgersen is squirming around nicely.

Hickman goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Holgersen turns into him and now he's in Hickman's guard.

Hickman has his foot on Holgersen's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Holgersen works his way back into a safe position though.

Hickman is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Hickman looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Holgersen tries to roll over but Hickman keeps him under control.
Holgersen has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hickman is working away from the top position though.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Hickman decides to stand and escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

It looks like Del Hickman has been cut.

Hickman shoots in looking for a takedown but Holgersen manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hickman's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Nagib Holgersen hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Holgersen misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Hickman has managed to clinch.
Hickman tries to pull guard but Holgersen won't allow it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Del Hickman. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Holgersen wants to get back to striking at distance but Hickman won't allow it.

Nagib Holgersen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Hickman closes the distance and clinches up with Holgersen, looking for a takedown. Hickman pushes Holgersen against the cage but Holgersen circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Del Hickman is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Hickman shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Holgersen as he jumps to the side.

Holgersen postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hickman is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Holgersen, into his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Holgersen wants to sweep here but Hickman controlling him for the moment.
Nagib Holgersen has got the better of the ground game so far.

Holgersen isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Hickman stacks Holgersen on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Hickman!

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Nagib Holgersen.
Well Holgersen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
