Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Randy Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sammy DeJesus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva looks to clinch

so DeJesus counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

DeJesus thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
DeJesus won't allow Silva to get back to his feet.
DeJesus tries to free his leg and advance position but Silva is retaining full guard.
DeJesus wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving.
Silva wants to stand and escape but DeJesus is having none of it.
DeJesus pushes down on Silva's leg and manages to get into half guard.
DeJesus seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Silva does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silva pushes DeJesus off looking to stand but DeJesus dives back in and keeps control.
Silva knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for DeJesus on the ground.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
DeJesus is pressing down on Silva's thigh, looking to free his foot. Silva is holding on for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Silva pushes DeJesus off looking to stand but DeJesus dives back in and keeps control.

DeJesus seems to be working for a kimura but Silva defends the submission attempt.

DeJesus trying to pass the guard but Silva defending well.

DeJesus is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Silva is just riding it out for now. DeJesus eventually gives up the hold.

DeJesus is looking for a kimura here.
Silva pushes DeJesus off looking to stand but DeJesus dives back in and keeps control.

DeJesus is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Silva defends it well.
Silva is in trouble now - DeJesus has advanced to mount!
DeJesus looks winded!

Silva is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Silva stops DeJesus from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.

DeJesus has hold of Silva's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Silva manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
You get the feeling that Silva really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Silva trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

DeJesus is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Silva to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Silva shrugs it off.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Silva wants to get back to his feet.
DeJesus can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Silva is looking to escape.
DeJesus raining down shots from the mount!
Silva is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

DeJesus is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Silva has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Silva!
DeJesus looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Silva tries to stand but DeJesus is controlling from the bottom.

DeJesus manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Silva connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
DeJesus fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Silva tries to clinch up but DeJesus circles away and keeps his distance.
DeJesus looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Silva is fending him off so far but DeJesus persists. Nope, Silva circles away and we're back to standing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
DeJesus gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Nice cross by Silva.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Silva throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck DeJesus on the side of the head.
Silva tries for a takedown but DeJesus sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sammy DeJesus dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Silva throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. DeJesus was covering up waiting for the punch and Silva finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Silva stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Silva wants to clinch.
Silva bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Randy Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silva tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. DeJesus manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Silva lunges at DeJesus with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by DeJesus's hand.
Silva throws a looping overhand right but DeJesus ducks down to avoid it.
Silva tries to clinch but DeJesus moves out of range.
Silva rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and DeJesus counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Silva on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

DeJesus seems to be looking for submissions.
DeJesus is breathing heavily.

DeJesus uses his free foot to push down on Silva's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Silva.

DeJesus looking to break Silva's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Silva remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise DeJesus will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Silva is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Our spies down at at Cozad The Island inform us that DeJesus has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

DeJesus is working for a rear naked choke. Silva is not defending it well and DeJesus has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Silva refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Silva's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
