Meet the Future

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tsunami Wave!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, William Wellington!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, John Mangel and Damien Edna.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wave throws a predictable looking body shot
and Wellington counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Wellington steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Wave.
Wave looks to land a right hand but Wellington moved out of range.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Wellington has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Wellington fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Wave has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Wellington bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Wave fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Wellington on the side of the head.
Wave moves into range and connects with a jab.
Tsunami Wave is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wellington throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Wave's waist but Wave gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Wellington off to one side.
Wellington shoots in but no luck this time.
Tsunami Wave has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of William Wellington.

Wave feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Wellington sprawling to the canvas! Wellington rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Wave finish him?!

Wellington is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Wellington checks a leg kick.
Wave drops Wellington with a huge uppercut! Wellington drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Wave is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!
