The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gaston rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Barnett moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Gaston, as that shot connected.

It looks like Ruiner Barnett has been cut.

Barnett sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Gaston throws a sloppy head kick and Barnett moves out of range easily.
Gaston ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Barnett moves away.

We've been hearing reports that Barnett has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Gaston fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Barnett has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Barnett has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Gaston. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
