Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Arturo Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bullet Bookem (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ward shoots in for a double leg but Bookem sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Bookem will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Some wild striking there from Ward.
No luck for Ward with that takedown attempt.
Bookem throws a nice looking combination but Ward bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Bookem misses with an uppercut. Ward saw that one coming.
Ward throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bookem's waist but Bookem gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ward off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Arturo Ward. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ward shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bookem as he jumps to the side.
A big right from Ward misses.
Bookem throws a right and a left that both miss.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ward misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Bookem throws an overhand right that lands on Ward's shoulder, as Ward tries to avoid the shot.
Ward drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Ward checks a leg kick.
Ward misses with a takedown attempt - Bookem sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Bookem misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Ward.
Ward will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Nice combo by Bookem! Oh, that's hurt him - Ward falls to the canvas and Bookem follows him into side control.

Ward is rocked!

It looks like Arturo Ward has been cut.
A big shot lands for Bookem! That's hurt Ward! Will he recover? Bookem fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
