The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shaw tries to clinch there but Laprise circles away.

Laprise shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Laprise was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Shaw gets back to half guard.
Laprise sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Shaw defending well though.

Laprise is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Shaw sees it coming and defends easily.
Shaw is trying to stand.
Laprise should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Shaw wants to control but Laprise is keeping busy.
Laprise seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Shaw does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Shaw tries to roll over but Laprise keeps him under control.
Laprise is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Shaw!

Laprise looking to isolate an arm here. Shaw doesn't see it coming and as Laprise extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Laprise!
