Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between George Wilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zeus Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, George Wilson!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Zeus Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Colin Fotheringham and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie shoots in and drives through. Wilson sprawls well.

Gracie shoots in and gets a takedown into Wilson's guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Gracie is pushing down on Wilson's leg trying to pass to half guard. Wilson is fighting to maintain full guard but Gracie has managed to sneak the leg through.

Gracie bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Wilson's guard.

Gracie drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Wilson manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Gracie has Wilson in his guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Gracie not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Gracie throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Wilson's waist but Wilson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gracie off to one side.

Gracie closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Wilson to the mat! Wilson manages to get full guard.

Gracie has gone for a leg lock! Wilson slips out almost immediately though and dives into Gracie's guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Wilson connects with a nice short shot to Gracie's temple.

Gracie has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Wilson is working away from the top position though.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Wilson enables Gracie to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Wilson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Wilson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Gracie with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Wilson lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

That was a close round but George Wilson did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it.

Gracie shoots for a double leg takedown but Wilson sprawls well. He's pushed Gracie's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Gracie has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Wilson is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Gracie shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Wilson pinned against the cage. Wilson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Gracie takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Horrible takedown by Gracie or perhaps it was just good defense by Wilson which made him look bad.

Wilson scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Gracie doesn't seem bothered though.
Gracie has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.


Gracie is rocked!


It looks like Zeus Gracie has been cut.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gracie is defended easily by Wilson.
Gracie is still on wobbly legs! Can Wilson finish him?

Wilson throws a left that rocks Gracie and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Wilson dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Gracie regain composure!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gracie is looking for a sweep.

Wilson decides to stand back up.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gracie.

Gracie shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Wilson as he avoids it easily.
Wilson swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Gracie seems to have recovered his senses.
Wilson stuffs the takedown.
Wilson misses with a wild body shot.
Gracie gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Gracie tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Wilson is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Gracie buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Gracie!! Gracie is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Wilson throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.
