The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Redford feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Redford stands and throws Hartley's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Redford wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hartley, who protects the arm well.
Redford tries to advance to mount but Hartley denies him.
Redford lands a few punches from side control.
Redford advances nicely into full mount.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hartley is wriggling around trying to escape.

Redford jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Hartley is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Hartley and Redford has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Redford tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Redford swings around for an armbar but Hartley sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Redford's guard.

Redford had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hartley defends it easily.

Hartley wants to control from the top but Redford keeps moving.

Redford working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hartley doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hartley manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Redford is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Redford is looking for a triangle here but Hartley uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Hartley is looking to take a break and control but Redford is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hartley cracks Redford with a solid left hand.
Hartley postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Redford has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Hartley should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Redford has tightened it up now! Hartley should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
