Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dexter Morgan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sparky Sampson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dexter Morgan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sparky Sampson!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Paulsen Ambrosius and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sampson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Sampson drives through with a takedown into Morgan's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Morgan wants to sweep here but Sampson controlling him for the moment.

Morgan is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Sampson defends well.
Morgan wants to get back to his feet but Sampson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Morgan escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sampson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Sampson drops back looking for a leg! Morgan is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Morgan manages to kick Sampson off! Sampson jumps back into Morgan's guard.

Sampson stops Morgan from standing up.

Sampson throws a big elbow that misses.
Morgan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Morgan has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Sampson has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Sampson is looking for a takedown.

Sampson has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Morgan regains guard immediately.
Morgan thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Morgan will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Morgan is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Sampson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Morgan works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Morgan wants to stand and escape but Sampson is having none of it.
Morgan is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Dark Horse MMA Academy that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Morgan kicks Sampson off and gets to his feet.
Sampson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Morgan avoids it really well and circles away.
Dexter Morgan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sparky Sampson.

Sampson gets a double leg takedown into Morgan's guard.
Morgan is trying to hold Sampson in close to prevent damage but Sampson has managed to pass into half guard.
Morgan tries to roll over but Sampson keeps him under control.

Sampson is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Morgan wants to get back to his feet.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Sampson connects with a nice short shot to Morgan's temple.
Morgan wants to get back to full guard.
Sampson looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Morgan gets back to full guard.
Morgan looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sampson is one step ahead there.
Sampson chips away with some ground and pound.

Morgan wants to get back to his feet but Sampson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Morgan avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sampson told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sampson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Sampson postures up in Morgan's guard and throws a big left but Morgan blocks it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Morgan has his feet on Sampson's thighs here. He's pushed Sampson off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Sampson screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Dexter Morgan!
An out of breath Dexter Morgan thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
