The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kubach tries to close the distance and clinch but Martinez swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Kubach throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Martinez throws the left hand but Kubach avoids the punch easily.
Martinez scores with a jab. Kubach acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Martinez bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Kubach's head.
Kubach misses with a jab, cross combination.
Kubach gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Kubach throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Martinez scores with a hook.
Kubach misses with a takedown attempt - Martinez sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Martinez thows a left - swing and a miss!
Martinez throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Martinez throws an overhand right that lands on Kubach's shoulder, as Kubach tries to avoid the shot.
Kubach throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Martinez's waist but Martinez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kubach off to one side.
Oscar Martinez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fran Kubach.
Kubach slips a jab from Martinez.
Kubach fails to land the takedown.
Kubach looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Martinez is fending him off so far but Kubach persists. Nope, Martinez circles away and we're back to standing.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Martinez scores with a sloppy right hand. Kubach should have avoided that one.

Kubach is rocked!
Martinez is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Kubach displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Martinez throws out the jab.
Kubach is still on wobbly legs! Can Martinez finish him?
Martinez misses with a straight right.
Kubach seems to have recovered his senses.

Kubach takes one on the button.
Martinez stuffs the takedown attempt from Kubach. Kubach gets slowly back to his feet.
Kubach looks up at the clock. Bad move! Martinez lands a right hand from hell, dropping Kubach. Martinez pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
