Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Noel Zombie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Hammany (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zombie comes to the cage accompanied by Rob Zombie - Dead Girl Superstar. Noel Zombie had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Franklyn Lucas and Eddie Farnsworth.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Zombie fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hammany, pushing him back against the cage.
Zombie lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Zombie gets underhooks to prevent Hammany's takedown attempt.
Zombie fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Hammany has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Zombie clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Hammany is controlling the position but Zombie somehow manages to roll and ends up with half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Zombie won't allow Hammany to pass to mount.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Zombie scores with a nice right hand.

Hammany closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Zombie controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
Zombie has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hammany is working away from the top position though.
Hammany wants to lay and pray for a moment but Zombie keeps working.
Zombie is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hammany's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hammany's back!

Zombie has Hammany flattened out and is raining down punches.
Zombie is looking to control Hammany but Hammany is wriggling around and keeping busy.
Hammany breaks Zombie's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Zombie wants to stand and escape but Hammany is having none of it.

Zombie is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Zombie breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Zombie tries to bum rush Hammany with a series of wild strikes but Hammany uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Zombie shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Zombie showed some decent athleticism there.
Hammany wants to improve his position but Zombie is controlling well.

Zombie goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Hammany misses with a takedown attempt - Zombie sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Hammany goes for a takedown in the clinch but Zombie prevents it.

and Zombie counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Hammany thinking.

Hammany shoots in but no luck this time.
Zombie tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hammany swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Zombie misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Hammany takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Zombie wants to control but Hammany is keeping him busy.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Hammany tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Zombie is squirming around, avoiding Hammany's attempts to control the action.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Hammany seems to be looking for submissions.
Zombie is trying to stand.
James Hammany has got the better of the ground game so far.
Hammany wants to lay and pray for a moment but Zombie keeps working.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
