Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jesse Jenkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raymond Matice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Jorge Garcia and Anthony Taglia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Jenkins, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Jenkins shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Matice manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Matice looking for a sweep. Not yet Matice, not yet.
Matice is looking to stand up but Jenkins isn't so interested in that idea.
Matice wants to sweep but no luck.

Jenkins avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Matice in particular looking to stall.

Matice seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jenkins does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Matice is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Raymond Matice has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Matice throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Matice gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Matice shoots in looking for a takedown. Jenkins tries to sprawl out of it but Matice keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jenkins manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

We've been told by Jenkins's head coaches at Hilo Training Center that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Matice goes for a double leg but Jenkins avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Jenkins continues to drive forward.
Matice is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Jenkins pulls him back up using the underhooks.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Matice is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Jenkins jumps into side control!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Matice manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Jenkins not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Jenkins slips a nice elbow through Matice's hands, connecting with Matice's forehead.

Jenkins is nestled in close to Matice, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Jenkins lands a nice short elbow.
