PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Deacon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Frank Dennis and George Francis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson fails in his attempt to clinch.
Deacon slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Johnson goes for a double leg but Deacon avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Deacon continues to drive forward.
Johnson tries to score a body lock takedown but Deacon shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

David Deacon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Johnson.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Johnson is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Deacon pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Deacon lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Deacon breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Johnson takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Deacon connects with a jab.
Johnson tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Deacon connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Deacon lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Deacon.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Deacon feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Johnsons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Deacon scores with a hook to the body. Johnson takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Deacon connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Johnson's hands.
Deacon lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Deacon scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Johnson shoots in but Deacon avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Deacon lands a left and a right that send Johnson crashing to the mat, dazed. Deacon thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Johnson is rocked!
Deacon looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Deacon cracks Johnson on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Johnson falls backwards against the cage. Deacon follows up with more strikes that drop Johnson to his knees. Deacon keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Johnson! This one is all over!
