Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Ottway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kuku Xumusu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John Ottway!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kuku Xumusu!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Roosa Järviläinen and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Xumusu tries to land a leg kick but Ottway saw it coming and moves away.

Xumusu closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Xumusu prevents Ottway from improving his position.

Ottway looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Xumusu is taking a breather. Ottway says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Xumusu takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

It looks like Xumusu might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Ottway is in all sorts of trouble here.

Ottway tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Xumusu manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Ottway wants to sweep here but Xumusu controlling him for the moment.

Xumusu slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Kuku Xumusu hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Ottway feints and as Xumusu raises his hands in defense, Ottway changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Ottway has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Ottway stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Xumusu swivels though and keeps the full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Xumusu is on top in guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ottway is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Xumusu defends well.

That's time! Ottway's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Ottway fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Xumusu sprawls well initially but Ottway persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Xumusu manages to get to full guard.

Xumusu manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ottway manages to get himself to full guard.
Xumusu stands up over Ottway, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Kuku Xumusu has got the better of the ground game so far.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ottway decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Ottway feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Ottway is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Kuku Xumusu will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Xumusu tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ottway swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Ottway is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Xumusu decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Xumusu drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Xumusu jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Kuku Xumusu is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Kuku Xumusu comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Xumusu winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
