PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fletcher Graham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adnan Mercury (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fletcher Graham!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Adnan Mercury!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Matheus Silva and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mercury fails with a takedown attempt.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Mercury is looking for a kimura but Graham is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Mercury to get the leverage.

Mercury throws a series of punches but Graham moves out of range.
Graham goes for a double leg but Mercury avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Mercury continues to drive forward.
Mercury jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Graham walks away with a smile on his face. Mercury gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Fletcher Graham has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adnan Mercury.
Mercury tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Graham defends well and Mercury ends up having to push Graham into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Mercury dives in for a single leg takedown but Graham sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Mercury has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Mercury has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Graham can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Graham drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Graham jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Adnan Mercury showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Graham decides to pull guard.
Mercury is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Graham is looking for a triangle but Mercury pushes his legs off easily.
Graham wants to improve his position but instead Mercury has moved into half guard.

Mercury moves into full mount! Graham won't be happy about that!
Mercury takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Mercury takes Graham's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Graham is in trouble.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Graham avoids the strikes from Mercury.

Mercury just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

Mercury is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Graham has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Adnan Mercury comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Mercury has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
