The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aesthetics takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Magnus doesn't manage to clinch there - Aesthetics circles away.
Magnus throws a combination. Aesthetics tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

and Aesthetics counters with a shoot takedown. Magnus fights it but they end up in guard.

Aesthetics is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Aesthetics drops back looking for a leg! Magnus is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Magnus manages to kick Aesthetics off! Aesthetics jumps back into Magnus's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Magnus wants to stand but Aesthetics is controlling the position.

Aesthetics has gone for a leg lock! Magnus slips out almost immediately though and dives into Aesthetics's guard.

Aesthetics working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Magnus doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Magnus manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Aesthetics is pushing down on Magnus's leg trying to pass to half guard. Magnus is fighting to maintain full guard but Aesthetics has managed to sneak the leg through.

Magnus feints and then cracks Aesthetics's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Aesthetics down.

Magnus lands a left and a right that send Aesthetics crashing to the mat, dazed. Magnus thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Magnus finds Aesthetics's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Aesthetics flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Magnus lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Aesthetics will be OK.
