The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Chris Edwards and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
St Pierre shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Barr counters by moving into the clinch.

Barr breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Barr feints and as St Pierre raises his hands in defense, Barr changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Barr drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and St Pierre dives on top into guard.

and St Pierre counters with a three punch combo that has Barr backing up. Barr nods at St Pierre to acknowledge the strikes.
Barr tries to score a power double leg takedown but St Pierre sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Barr somewhat.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
St Pierre shoots for a double leg takedown but Barr sprawls well. He's pushed St Pierre's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
St Pierre throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Barr closes the distance and clinches.
St Pierre changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Barr fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Barr takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Barr looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? St Pierre is fending him off so far but Barr persists. Nope, St Pierre circles away and we're back to standing.
Barr tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but St Pierre swivels and escapes.

Barr takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Jonathan St Pierre seems to be getting the better of the standup.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close second round but I would say that Brett Barr will probably get the nod.

Brett Barr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
