Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sid Water (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donnie Yen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sid Water!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Donnie Yen!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yen keeps the fight on the outside.
Water leaves Yen with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Water misses with the combination.
Water tries to clinch up.

Water rushes Yen and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Water misses with an elbow over the top.
Water tries a knee to the head but Yen blocks it.
Water pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Water throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Yen wants to take the fight to the mat but Water manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Yen goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Yen tries to break free but Water pushes him back against the cage.

Yen is trying to force a seperation but Water has the dominant position.
Water lands a nice elbow.
Yen is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Water to keep the fight standing.
Sid Water has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Donnie Yen.
With the fighters up against the cage, Water throws an elbow but misses.
Yen fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Water comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Yen is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Water jumps into side control!

Water knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Yen on the ground.

Water has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Sid Water has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Yen is defended easily by Water.

Yen fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Sid Water will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Sid Water seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Yen is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Water defends well.

Yen isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Water stacks Yen on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Water!

Yen manages to work his way to half guard, despite Water's best efforts.

Yen is looking to escape.
Water prevents Yen from improving his position.
Yen is trying to control but can't.
Yen is trying to stand up here but Water is controlling him well.
Well, if Water is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Yen is looking for a sweep. Water is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Water wants to pass the guard but Yen is defending well.

Yen is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Water's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Water's back!

Donnie Yen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Yen tries to score a power double leg takedown but Water sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Yen somewhat.
Yen jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Yen throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Yen slips a jab and a cross from Water.
Water fails in his attempt to clinch.
Some wild striking there from Yen.

Sid Water is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Water moves into the clinch.
Water lands an elbow that stopped Yen in his tracks for a moment.
Water's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Water gets a warning from the ref for wasting time.

Yen blocks an elbow strike.
Water pushes off an throws an elbow but Yen leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Yen jumps guard but Water turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Water just misses with a elbow thrown towards Yen's brow.

Water gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Yen.

Yen has Water pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Water manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

and Yen counters with a head kick. That will keep Water thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Yen closes this distance looking for a takedown but Water circles away.
Nice sprawl there from Water as Yen shoots in.
Yen takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Water throws a right hand that Yen ducks under and follows up with a left that Yen also avoids with ease.

Water fails with an attempt to clinch.
Water tries to clinch but Yen is having none of it.
Yen misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Water has taken the fight to the clinch.
Water lands an elbow inside.
Yen tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Water smiles and moves away.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Horrible takedown by Yen or perhaps it was just good defense by Water which made him look bad.

Water has managed to clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Water looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Yen takes an elbow to the temple.

And that's the end of the fight!
Sid Water showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Water has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Sid Water is the new light heavyweight champion!
Sid Water decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
