The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Deathgrip closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Deathgrip is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Cleo has hold of Deathgrip's hands but Deathgrip slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Deathgrip is working for a submission of some sort.
Deathgrip looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Cleo is breathing heavily.

Deathgrip is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cleo has hold of Deathgrip's hands but Deathgrip slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Deathgrip is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Deathgrip has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Deathgrip cracks Cleo with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Deathgrip scoring with strikes but Cleo is staying in there.

Deathgrip is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Deathgrip extends the arm and Cleo is forced to tap!
