Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pirate Dan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones comes to the cage accompanied by God Gave Me Style . The key to victory for Jon Jones has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Russell Pearce and Dean Styles.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones shoots in and bounces Dan off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Our spies down at at The Sweat Lodge inform us that Dan has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Dan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Jones counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Dan's guard now.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Pirate Dan wasn't active enough on the ground.
Dan does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Jones drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Jones stands up and beckons Dan to his feet.

Dan avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Jones clinches up with Dan and pushes him back against the cage.
Jones misses with a knee strike.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Jones.

Jones ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Jones no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Dan wants to pass the guard but Jones is keeping the position.
Dan lands a couple of elbows.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Dan postures up in Jones's guard and throws a big left but Jones blocks it.
Dan trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Dan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jones swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Jones wants to get back to his feet but Dan is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Dan sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jones's guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Dan lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Jones is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Dan's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Dan's back!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jon Jones will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Jones tries to clinch there but Dan circles away.
Dan loads up on a big right hand but Jones slips the punch.
Jones is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Jones stuffs the takedown.

Jones bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Dan manages to work his way to half guard, despite Jones's best efforts.
Dan wants to improve his position but Jones is controlling well.
Dan works his way to full guard. Good work.
Dan tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Dan has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Jones has passed into side control.

Dan stalling away here and it's allowed Jones to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Dan lands a couple of digs.
Jones wants to stand and escape but Dan is having none of it.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Dan's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Dan not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Jones looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dan is one step ahead there.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Dan connects with a couple of short punches.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Dan looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jones with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Dan wants to control but Jones is keeping him busy.
Dan is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Jones pushes Dan off looking to stand but Dan dives back in and keeps control.

Dan seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Jones is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
