The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duffee lands a nice hook to LaPugilista's body. LaPugilista takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Duffee looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
A jab from LaPugilista finds it's way through Duffee's defenses.

It looks like Todd Duffee has been cut.
Duffee tries to score a power double leg takedown but LaPugilista sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Duffee somewhat.

LaPugilista gets caught flat footed, as Duffee shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Duffee passes easily into side control. Nice work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Duffee is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but LaPugilista is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Duffee happy to just control the position for now.

Duffee is trying to get an arm triangle but LaPugilista is defending well.

Duffee looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
LaPugilista is trying to control Duffee's posture but Duffee avoids it.

Duffee decides to stand up, so the ref orders LaPugilista to his feet.

Duffee fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but LaPugilista avoids it really well and circles away.

Duffee shoots in and gets a takedown into LaPugilista's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
LaPugilista trying to keep a closed guard but Duffee is proving a slippery customer.
Duffee loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Duffee is looking to work some ground and pound but LaPugilista has wrist control.
LaPugilista really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Duffee. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Duffee has gone for a leg lock! LaPugilista slips out almost immediately though and dives into Duffee's guard.

Duffee escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. LaPugilista gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

LaPugilista avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Duffee has his foot on LaPugilista's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. LaPugilista works his way back into a safe position though.

This has been an exciting period of action!
LaPugilista advances to half guard.

Duffee is pressing down on LaPugilista's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Duffee escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. LaPugilista gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Duffee working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. LaPugilista doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. LaPugilista manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

LaPugilista has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Duffee to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! LaPugilista is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Duffee pulls down on the head and he's put LaPugilista to sleep! This one is all over!
