Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Punchy Puncherson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and TJ McA (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, TJ McA!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Bruno Hogan and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McA avoids a kick to the body.
Puncherson connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Puncherson lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
McA looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Puncherson swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Puncherson moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Puncherson looks to throw the jab but McA is out of range.
Puncherson lands with a shot to the body.
Puncherson misses with a jab, cross combination.
Puncherson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from McA.
McA uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Puncherson.
McA has a takedown stuffed.

McA rushes Puncherson and presses him up against the cage.
McA is working for takedown but Puncherson is calmly controlling the position for now.
Punchy Puncherson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of TJ McA.
Puncherson wants to break free but McA has control.

McA drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Puncherson gets the underhooks and prevents it.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
McA keeps control of Puncherson as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Puncherson has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Puncherson wants to get back to striking at distance but McA won't allow it.

Puncherson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

McA fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Puncherson sprawls well initially but McA persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Puncherson is looking to improve his position.

McA working over Puncherson with some ground and pound. Puncherson looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
McA is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
McA is in the full mount, landing strikes.

McA working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Puncherson is wriggling around trying to escape.
McA controlling the position easily from mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McA lands a couple of good shots and Puncherson has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
McA's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
McA has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Let's hope that McA has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and McA moves into the clinch.

McA drives through with a takedown into Puncherson's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
McA advances position into side control!
Puncherson can't do much from the bottom here.

McA advances to mount.
McA looking to control and managing it successfully.

Puncherson wants to control but McA is having none of it.
McA tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

OK we're going to have a standup here. TJ McA hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

McA shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than McA was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
McA in side control, just content to control the action for now.
McA cracks Puncherson with a big right hand but Puncherson just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Puncherson tries to improve position but can't.
McA controlling from side mount.
Puncherson is looking for a sweep.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
McA staying calm.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

TJ McA showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!



McA gets a clinch.
Puncherson is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. McA is defending well for now.

McA escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
McA ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Puncherson slaps away a takedown attempt from McA, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Puncherson is looking to land body kicks.
Puncherson cracks McA with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
McA shoots in looking for a takedown. Puncherson tries to sprawl out of it but McA keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Puncherson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
McA moves out of range of the leg kick from Puncherson.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Puncherson swings away with a body shot that misses
and McA counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Puncherson thinking.
Puncherson misses with a hook

and McA counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by McA.
McA wants to stand but Puncherson is controlling his posture from full guard.
McA controls from within his opponent's guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

TJ McA has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Puncherson throws a predictable looking body shot

and McA counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by McA.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
McA pushes down on Puncherson's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
McA missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Puncherson tries to get to full guard but McA has control of the leg.
McA passes the guard and advances to mount!

Puncherson is in all sorts of trouble here.
TJ McA has got the better of the ground game so far.

Punchy Puncherson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Puncherson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Puncherson tries to get out of the position.
TJ McA is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The ref stands the fighters back up. TJ McA was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Puncherson misses with an uppercut. McA saw that one coming.

And that's the end of the fight!
TJ McA comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got McA winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
