The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Delton pushes Pettis up against the cage in a clinch.

Delton manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Pettis postures up.
Pettis wants to stand but Delton has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Delton tries to score a power double leg takedown but Pettis sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Delton somewhat.

Delton wants to control but Pettis is keeping busy.
Pettis lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Pettis lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Delton is trying to stand.
Pettis seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Delton misses with some strikes from the bottom.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Pettis is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Pettis stuffs the takedown attempt from Delton. Delton gets slowly back to his feet.
Delton moves in looking to clinch but Pettis pushes him off.
Delton tries to clinch there but Pettis circles away.

Pettis gets the takedown into side control.
Pettis scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Delton is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Pettis can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
