Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jewel Wilcox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carter Macki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carter Macki will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wilcox fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Macki to the ground. Wilcox is now in Macki's guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Wilcox tries to free his leg and advance position but Macki is retaining full guard.
Macki keeping moving, preventing Wilcox from controlling successfully.

Macki is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Wilcox dives into side control.

Macki has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Wilcox is on him like a limpet, forcing Macki back against the cage.

Macki tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Macki has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Wilcox is pushing Macki's head away, looking to escape. Macki manages to hold on to the position though.
Macki lands a decent elbow from side control.

Macki decides to stand up, so the ref orders Wilcox to his feet.

Wilcox changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Macki looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Wilcox is looking to take a break and control but Macki is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Wilcox wants to stand but Macki has his arm trapped.

Macki dives in and grabs Wilcox's left leg, looking for a takedown. Wilcox pushes down on Macki's head and hops out.

Macki is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Wilcox rolls with it to try and escape but Macki cranks on the arm and Wilcox is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
