PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Moldoon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edoja Jame (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Edoja Jame will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Jonathan Paton and Chad Campbell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moldoon throws out a loose jab but Jame uses good head movement to avoid it.
Jame steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Moldoon.
Moldoon misses with an uppercut

and Jame counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Jame slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Moldoon seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
Jame wants to pass the guard but Moldoon is keeping the position.
Jame prevents Moldoon from getting back to his feet.

Jame is standing up over Moldoon. Moldoon looks to escape but Jame dives into side control.
Moldoon is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Jame asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Jame tries to score with some ground and pound. Moldoon controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Jame is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Moldoon knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Jame swings around for an armbar but Moldoon sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Jame's guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Moldoon throws a nice looking combination but Jame bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Jame works on Moldoon's body with a couple of short punches.

Moldoon fails to land the takedown.
Moldoon is breathing heavily.
Jame shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Moldoon as he avoids it easily.

and Jame counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jame closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Moldoon is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Jame pulls guard.
Moldoon has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Jame is proving hard to escape from.
Moldoon won't allow Jame to sweep him here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jame pulls Moldoon in to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jame controls Moldoon momentarily but Moldoon frees himself.
Jame throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Jame tries to land knees in the clinch but Moldoon avoids the damage to the body.
Jame is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Moldoon is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Jame can't fight it off and eventually Moldoon manages to take the fight to the floor. Jame looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jame is on top in guard.
Jame controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Jame won't allow Moldoon to get back to his feet.

Moldoon falls off balance throwing a combination

and Jame counters by moving into the clinch.
Moldoon drops down looking for an ankle pick but Jame pulls his leg out and moves away.

Jame lands a left and a right that send Moldoon crashing to the mat, dazed. Jame thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Chuck Moldoon has been cut.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jame misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Jame tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Moldoon defends well and Jame ends up having to push Moldoon into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Jame throws a knee to the head but misses.
Moldoon has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Jame is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Jame closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Moldoon quickly recovers to half guard.

A lull in the action here as Jame stalls from top position.

Edoja Jame showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Moldoon's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Jame shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Moldoon defends it nicely.

Moldoon shoots in looking for a takedown but Jame manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Moldoon's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Chuck Moldoon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Moldoon moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Jame tries to clinch there but Moldoon circles away.
Jame pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Moldoon works over Jame's head and body with a nice combination.
Nice straight punches there by Jame. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Jame.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Jame throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Moldoon stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Moldoon wants it to stay on the feet.
Chuck Moldoon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Edoja Jame.

Jame dives in for a single leg takedown but Moldoon sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Jame has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Moldoon uses from the top position.

Moldoon shoots in but Jame avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Moldoon tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Jame shoots in looking for a takedown. Moldoon tries to sprawl out of it but Jame keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Moldoon manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Chuck Moldoon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jame scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Edoja Jame is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Edoja Jame comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Jame has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
