The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carne gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Danzig counters with a nice double leg into side control. Carne won't be happy with that.
Danzig controls the position.
You can see the frustration on Carne's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Danzig goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Carne has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Danzig but great work by Carne.
Carne tries to score with some ground and pound. Danzig controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
I wouldn't like to be where Danzig is right now.
Danzig tries to bench press Carne off him but Carne keeps the position.
Carne wants to stand but Danzig has his arm trapped.
Danzig stops Carne from passing to mount.

Danzig is trying to improve his position.

Danzig throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Danzig rushes Carne and presses him up against the cage.
Danzig gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Carne.

Danzig breaks from the clinch.
Carne tries for a takedown but Danzig circles away easily

so Danzig counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Glenn Danzig has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Con Carne.

Danzig controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Carne tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Danzig's corner is telling him to maintain position.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Danzig postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

It looks like Con Carne has been cut.
Carne has momentary wrist control but Danzig slips an elbow through the middle.
Danzig lands a couple of digs.

Carne is rocked!
Danzig gets to his feet and stands over Carne, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Carne felt that one! Danzig unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Carne from any more punishment!
