Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Rooy Tahnupa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Mewes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rooy Tahnupa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jason Mewes!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Chris Saunders and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tahnupa throws a right hand that Mewes ducks under and follows up with a left that Mewes also avoids with ease.
Tahnupa clobbers Mewes with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Mewes cracks the inside of Tahnupa's front leg.
Mewes misses with a wild combination.
Tahnupa misses with an uppercut. Mewes saw that one coming.
Tahnupa rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Mewes counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Mewes looks to throw the jab but Tahnupa is out of range.
Mewes slips a straight right by Tahnupa.
Mewes throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Mewes works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Tahnupa scores with a jab to the body.
Tahnupa lands a two punch combo.
A big left from Tahnupa misses.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Mewes jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Tahnupa swings for the body but Mewes moves out of range.
Donk. Mewes catches Tahnupa right on the button with a cross.
Mewes tests Tahnupa's chin there with a solid looking shot.
The fighters circling - Tahnupa throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Mewes paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.


Tahnupa is rocked!
Mewes has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Mewes swings widly with a right hand
and Tahnupa counters with a stiff right hand.
Oh Tahnupa is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Tahnupa moves out of range as Mewes strikes.
Rooy Tahnupa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mewes misses with an uppercut.
Tahnupa seems to have got his legs back now.
No joy there for Tahnupa, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Mewes darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Mewes might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Mewes doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

and Mewes counters with a straight right hand.
Mewes connects with a body shot that sends Tahnupa's belly button to the back.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mewes uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Tahnupa.

and Mewes counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Mewes fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Tahnupa.

Tahnupa is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Mewes's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

Tahnupa fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Mewes manages to avoid it.
Mewes is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

and Mewes counters with a nice right hand that sends Tahnupa toppling to the canvas! Tahnupa scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Mewes finish him?!

Tahnupa uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Mewes has time to react.

Tahnupa is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Tahnupa cracks Mewes with a good jab.
Mewes throws a looping overhand right but Tahnupa ducks down to avoid it.
Mewes cracks Tahnupa on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Tahnupa falls backwards against the cage. Mewes follows up with more strikes that drop Tahnupa to his knees. Mewes keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Tahnupa! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jason Mewes!
Jason Mewes decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
