Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack Finnegan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rafal Frankenberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Frankenberg comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Polish Anthem kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jack Finnegan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rafal Frankenberg!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Trevor Gratis and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Finnegan looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Finnegan drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Finnegan missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Frankenberg is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Frankenberg is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Frankenberg escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Finnegan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Finnegan is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Finnegan with a flurry of punches that miss.
Finnegan trying to control but Frankenberg is working from the bottom.
Finnegan looking to sit in guard and control but Frankenberg gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Frankenberg content to stall in guard here.
Finnegan has Frankenberg pulled in close to control his posture.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Frankenberg is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Finnegan is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Finnegan has escaped and now he's on top!

Frankenberg can't keep his opponent in guard - Finnegan advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Frankenberg has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Finnegan is working away from the top position though.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Frankenberg stops a takedown attempt from Finnegan.

Finnegan wants to break free but Frankenberg has control.
Frankenberg tries to pull guard but Finnegan won't allow it.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Frankenberg has eaten all the pies!

Frankenberg ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Frankenberg no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Frankenberg has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Finnegan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Finnegan avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Finnegan shoots in and drives through. Frankenberg sprawls well.

and Finnegan counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Finnegan.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Finnegan is really struggling to control Frankenberg but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Frankenberg is breathing heavily.
Finnegan connects with a couple of short punches.
Finnegan working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Finnegan wants to stand but Frankenberg has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Finnegan passes Frankenberg's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Frankenberg is refusing to be controlled, as Finnegan sits in half guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Finnegan looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Frankenberg pushes Finnegan off looking to stand but Finnegan dives back in and keeps control.

Frankenberg tries to get to full guard but Finnegan has control of the leg.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Finnegan has managed to clinch.

Finnegan pulls guard successfully.
Frankenberg trying to control but Finnegan is working from the bottom.

Frankenberg has gone for a leg lock! Finnegan slips out almost immediately though and dives into Frankenberg's guard.

Finnegan wants to pass the guard but Frankenberg is keeping the position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Finnegan will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Will Finnegan go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Finnegan is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Frankenberg manages to reverse the position and now he's in Finnegan's guard. Nice work there by Frankenberg.
