Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Felipe Melo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Melo has chosen Fort Minor - Remember the name as his entrance music. Felipe Melo acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Paul Brown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Felipe Melo!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, David Schapiro and Alyssa Summers.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown misses with a wild combination.
Melo throws out a leg kick but Brown moves out of range and Melo only half commits.
We've been informed that Melo has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Brown looks to land a combination but Melo avoids it well.
Brown chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Melo can pounce on him.
Melo takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

It looks like Felipe Melo has been cut.
Melo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Brown uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Brown has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Melo throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Paul Brown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brown on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Melo moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Melo dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Brown. That did some damage!
Brown fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Melo on the side of the head.
Brown misses with an uppercut.
Melo throws a nice outside leg kick.
Melo throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Brown stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
A solid leg kick lands there for Melo.
Brown is breathing heavily.
Brown misses with a hook. Melo ducked under it nicely.
Melo tries to bum rush Brown with a series of wild strikes but Brown uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Melo connects with a leg kick. Brown looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Brown takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Melo misses with a jab, cross combination.
Melo feints and then cracks Brown's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Brown down.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Brown crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Melo - the referee stops the clock and Brown gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Melo. Brown manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
A solid body kick from Melo.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Good exchange - Melo coming out on top.
Brown takes a jab right on the kisser.
Crack! A monster head kick from Melo and Brown falls like a tree - timbeeeeeeeeeeerrrr! A highlight reel knockout by Melo!

Felipe Melo was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
