The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloan scores with a head kick. Chandran tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

It looks like Anu Chandran has been cut.
Sloan wants to clinch up but Chandran keeps it at a distance.

Chandran closes the distance and clinches.
Sloan fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Sloan gets tackled into the cage by Chandran. Chandran maintains the clinch.
Chandran is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Sloan pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Sloan has Chandran pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Chandran manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eldon Sloan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Chandran takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Sloan finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Chandran moves in looking to clinch but Sloan pushes him off.
Chandran does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Sloan fails with a takedown attempt.

Sloan loads up on a big right hand but Chandran slips the punch.

Chandran shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Sloan's guard.
Chandran is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Sloan has hold of Chandran's hands but Chandran slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Chandran seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Sloan swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Chandran rushes Sloan and presses him up against the cage.
Chandran tries to pull guard but Sloan holds him up against the cage and eventually Chandran drops back down to his feet.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Chandran ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Chandran no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Chandran avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Sloan lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Chandran circles away quickly and effectively.
Sloan will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Sloan throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Chandran's waist but Chandran gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sloan off to one side.
Sloan shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Chandran as he avoids it easily.
