Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Julio Cezar De Lima!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ebenezer Scrooge!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Robert Twigg and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scrooge scores with a three punch combo!
It looks like Julio Cezar De Lima has been cut.
De Lima gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Scrooge counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Scrooge closes the distance and pushes De Lima back into the cage.
De Lima tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Scrooge just stands there and leans against the cage.
Scrooge breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
De Lima with a poor takedown
and Scrooge counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Julio Cezar De Lima. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
De Lima fails with the takedown
and Scrooge counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
De Lima jumps guard but Scrooge stands there with De Lima around his waist. De Lima gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Scrooge manages to break the clinch.
De Lima misses with a takedown
and Scrooge counters with a straight right hand.
Scrooge moves into range and clinches up with De Lima.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Scrooge escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Scrooge scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Scrooge lands with a shot to the body.
De Lima tries for a takedown but Scrooge circles away easily
and Scrooge counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
De Lima is breathing heavily.
Scrooge listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Scrooge bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of De Lima's head.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Scrooge gets a double leg takedown into De Lima's guard.
Scrooge stands and steps away. De Lima gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

De Lima has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from De Lima there as he acknowledges the shot.

Julio Cezar De Lima's cut is getting worse.
The fighters circle momentarily. Scrooge darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
De Lima has his takedown stuffed
and Scrooge counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Julio Cezar De Lima seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Scrooge lands a big uppercut and De Lima crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but De Lima looks OK. Scrooge waves De Lima back to his feet!
De Lima is rocked!
De Lima walks straight into a right hand from Scrooge - that's dropped him! Scrooge jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save De Lima from any more punishment! De Lima complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Ebenezer Scrooge!
A very excited looking Ebenezer Scrooge rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
