Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Philander Chavez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Pyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Pyle's choice of entrance music: Bate Pesadão. Richard Pyle will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Philander Chavez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Richard Pyle!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Paulo Santos and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pyle circles away from the clinch attempt

and Pyle counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Jeez, both these guys look absolutely knackered already, that's not a good sign!
Pyle stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Chavez swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Pyle is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Chavez lands some strikes from the bottom.
Pyle works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Pyle has control of Chavez's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Chavez regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Pyle is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Chavez can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Pyle moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Chavez has worked his arm free - good work by Chavez!

Chavez looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Pyle looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Chavez wants to clinch

and Pyle counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Chavez!

Pyle tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Pyle has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

You can see the frustration on Chavez's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Pyle working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Chavez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Chavez manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Pyle is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Chavez might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Richard Pyle showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Chavez's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
