Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carlin fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Carlin fails in his attempt to clinch.
Carlin throws a sloppy head kick and Durant moves out of range easily.
Durant tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Carlin defends well and Durant ends up having to push Carlin into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Carlin lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Carlin tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Carlin crunches a lovely knee into Durant's ribcage.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Carlin creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

I was talking to Carlin's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Durant is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Shalako Carlin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kevin Durant.
Carlin is trying to maintain a safe position but Durant gets an underhook and turns Carlin into the cage.
Durant takes an elbow to the temple.
Durant is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Durant has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Durant cracks Carlin with a solid left hand.
Durant has gone for a leg lock! Carlin slips out almost immediately though and dives into Durant's guard.

Carlin wants to control from the top but Durant keeps moving.

Carlin is looking to stand up but Durant won't let him.
Durant has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Carlin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Carlin has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Durant is proving hard to escape from.
Carlin decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Durant, up you get!
Carlin connects with a leg kick. Durant looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Durant throws a shot from downtown. Carlin moves away and avoids it.
Carlin tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Durant shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Carlin throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Carlin throws a series of punches but Durant avoids them all with ease.

Durant is trying to pull guard but Carlin has him pressed against the cage.

Carlin throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Durant swings wildly with an uppercut but Carlin uses good head movement to avoid it.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Durant lands a hook to the side of the head.
Durant swings away with an uppercut that misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carlin has Durant pressed against the cage. He pushes Durant back and as he springs towards him off the cage, Carlin throws a beautiful elbow that sends Durant crashing to the floor! Carlin piles on the pressure with more strikes! Durant is flailing away but he's not defending himself and the referee steps in to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Shalako Carlin!
