Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nicholas J Mcgarry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergay Goncharov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Nicholas J Mcgarry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Sergay Goncharov!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Donald Grub and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goncharov defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Mcgarry.

Mcgarry gets a takedown into half guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Goncharov is looking for a sweep. Mcgarry is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Mcgarry tries to pass the half guard into mount. Goncharov knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Goncharov actively working from the bottom here.

Mcgarry is looking for a kimura here.
Mcgarry looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Mcgarry is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Goncharov is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Mcgarry's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Mcgarry's back!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mcgarry grimaces as he takes a shot to the body.
Mcgarry is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Mcgarry has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Mcgarry rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Goncharov is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Mcgarry had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Goncharov defends it easily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mcgarry is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Mcgarry has his foot on Goncharov's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Goncharov works his way back into a safe position though.
Mcgarry wants to sweep but no luck.
Mcgarry is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Mcgarry is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Goncharov defends it well.
Goncharov is pressing down on Mcgarry's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Mcgarry stands and throws Goncharov's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Goncharov gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Goncharov is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Mcgarry pulls his head out easily.

Mcgarry is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Goncharov is just riding it out for now. Mcgarry eventually gives up the hold.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Goncharov is defending against the submission attempts here by Mcgarry.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Mcgarry changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Goncharov tries to avoid it but Mcgarry manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Goncharov to the ground. Goncharov escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Goncharov fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Mcgarry to the ground. Goncharov is now in Mcgarry's guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mcgarry is on top in guard.
Mcgarry wants to pass the guard but Goncharov is keeping the position.

Mcgarry drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mcgarry jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Goncharov is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Mcgarry rolls with it to try and escape but Goncharov cranks on the arm and Mcgarry is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Sergay Goncharov!
A relieved looking Sergay Goncharov thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
