PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Abra Fo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Uchiha Madara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Abra Fo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, William Peck and Gregory Folan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Madara keeps the fight on the outside.
Madara tries to clinch but Fo moves out of range.
Fo tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Madara paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Madara dives in for a single leg takedown but Fo sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Madara is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Fo looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Madara breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Madara looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Fo is fending him off so far but Madara persists. Nope, Fo circles away and we're back to standing.

Fo throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Madara tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Fo is in Madara's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Madara pulls Fo in close to prevent any damage.

Madara has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Fo has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Madara stalls.

Madara tries to score a body lock takedown but Fo shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Abra Fo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Uchiha Madara.
Fo wants to break the clinch but can't.

Madara stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Fo to get to his feet.

and Fo holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Fo manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Fo has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Madara off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

That was a close round but I would say that Abra Fo will probably get the nod.
That's time! Fo's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Madara tries to clinch up but Fo circles away and keeps his distance.
Madara shoots in for a takedown but Fo shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Madara takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Fo knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Madara on the ground.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Fo winds up and cracks Madara with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Abra Fo overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Fo is keen to just control but Madara is a slippery customer.
Fo could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Fo has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Fo had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Madara defends it easily.

Fo wants to get back to his feet but Madara passes into half guard.
Madara tries to pass the half guard into mount. Fo knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Madara is working for a submission of some sort.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Fo is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Madara is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Abra Fo has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Fo goes for a double leg but Madara avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Madara continues to drive forward.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Abra Fo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Uchiha Madara.

Madara takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Madara stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Madara wants it to stay on the feet.

Fo fails to pull guard.
Madara jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Fo walks away with a smile on his face. Madara gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Fo misses with a takedown attempt - Madara sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Madara pushes Fo away with a front kick.
Fo throws a half hearted mid kick.

Fo gets the takedown into side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Fo tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Fo has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Fo thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Abra Fo.
Well Fo has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
