Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Valentin Stokes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pedro Rocha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Valentin Stokes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Pedro Rocha!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Paul Tew and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stokes misses with a double jab
and Rocha counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Rocha looks to land a combination. Stokes sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Stokes decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Rocha pushes Stokes off but Stokes dives into side control.
Stokes taking a breather here.
Stokes working the head and body with strikes.
Stokes is staying tight to Rocha's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Stokes has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Stokes really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Rocha is working to avoid the ground and pound but Stokes connects with a decent elbow.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Stokes stands up and beckons Rocha to his feet.
Stokes tries to clinch up.
Rocha lands a jab to the nose.
A left lands for Rocha.
Stokes pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Stokes tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
A nice combination there by Rocha.
Rocha lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Stokes circles away quickly and effectively.
The fight stays on the outside here - Stokes looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Stokes shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Stokes was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Stokes is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Rocha's shoulder. That is not cool.

Stokes has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Rocha is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Stokes yanks on the arm and Rocha is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Stokes.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Valentin Stokes!
