Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jason Paw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nicky Pesci (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Jason Paw has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason Paw!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nicky Pesci!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Eddie Farnsworth and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Paw closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Paw lands in his opponent's guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Pesci is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Paw throws a big right hand that misses.

Paw drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Paw jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Paw thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Paw is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Pesci is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Pesci has escaped and now he's on top!
Paw has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Pesci sitting in guard, not really doing much.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Pesci avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Pesci's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Paw escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pesci gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Pesci content to stall in guard here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Paw is looking for a triangle but Pesci pushes his legs off easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pesci seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Nicky Pesci wasn't active enough on the ground.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Paw gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Pesci controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Paw is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Paw escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pesci gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Pesci is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Paw is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Pesci defends well.

Paw has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pesci can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Paw is breathing heavily.
Pesci controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Nicky Pesci hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Paw throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A bone on bone clash there as Pesci blocks the leg kick.

Paw shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Pesci napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Pesci is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Paw's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pesci punching from the bottom.
Pesci tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Pesci slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Pesci is pulling down on Paw's head to control his posture.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pesci throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Pesci thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nicky Pesci dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Decent striking displayed by Paw there.
Paw rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Pesci moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Paw throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Paw scores with a jab.

Paw tries to sprawl but Pesci drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Pesci seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Paw is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Nicky Pesci!
