Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Brian Banks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bennett Collazo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Collazo has chosen Started From The Bottom as his entrance music. Brian Banks looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brian Banks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bennett Collazo!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Collazo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Banks utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Collazo is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

We've been told by Banks's head coaches at Silverback MMA Academy (Elite + Sauna & 160VM) that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Collazo throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Banks was covering up waiting for the punch and Collazo finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Collazo is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Banks defends it well.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Bennett Collazo hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Collazo drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Banks manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Collazo has Banks in his guard.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Banks goes for a double leg but Collazo avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Collazo continues to drive forward.

Banks really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Banks just misses with a elbow thrown towards Collazo's brow.
Still in the clinch, Banks scores with a nice short uppercut.
Collazo has Banks pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Banks manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Banks lands a good knee to the midsection. Collazo won't want to take too many of those.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That was a close second round but I would say that Brian Banks will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Collazo is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Banks is just riding it out for now. Collazo eventually gives up the hold.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bennett Collazo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Collazo has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
