The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Roger Salmon and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riggs doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Gustavsson counters with a left to the body.
Gustavsson fails to land with a series of punches.
Gustavsson misses with a series of wild punches.
Left hook, right uppercut from Gustavsson.
It looks like Justin Riggs has been cut.
Gustavsson tests Riggs's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Gustavsson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Gustavsson fails with an attempt to clinch.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Riggs has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Gustavsson throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
enabling Riggs to counter with a crisp jab.
Horrible takedown by Riggs or perhaps it was just good defense by Gustavsson which made him look bad.
Gustavsson lands the left hand.
A left and a right from Gustavsson both land. Nice combination.
Riggs looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Gustavsson!

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Riggs is looking to take a break and control but Gustavsson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Gustavsson wants to get back to his feet.
The ground and pound from Riggs seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
An elbow from Riggs crashes against the mat.
Riggs connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Gustavsson some visible discomfort.
Riggs in side control, throwing shots but Gustavsson defends.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Riggs throws an elbow but Gustavsson slips to the side and avoids it well.
Riggs misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Gustavsson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Gustavsson tries to get out of the position.
Gustavsson takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Riggs lands a nice forearm strike.
Riggs looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Gustavsson is avoiding damage well.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Gustavsson stuffs the takedown.
Alexander Gustavsson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Justin Riggs.
Riggs shoots in looking for a takedown but Gustavsson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Riggs's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Gustavsson swings for the body but Riggs moves out of range.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Riggs shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Gustavsson sprawls well. Gustavsson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Riggs gets slowly back to his feet.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Gustavsson tries to bum rush Riggs with a series of wild strikes but Riggs uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Riggs darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Gustavsson is rocked!
Riggs is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Oh Gustavsson is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Well, if Riggs is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Riggs lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Riggs lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Gustavsson! More strikes land and this one is all over! Riggs jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
