Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jere Dunlap (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paulo Zala (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jere Dunlap!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Paulo Zala!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Paul Tew and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zala swinging wildly here.
Zala throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dunlap's waist but Dunlap gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Zala off to one side.

Zala gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Dunlap looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Dunlap works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Zala controls Dunlap momentarily but Dunlap frees himself.
Zala is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Zala looking for a sweep. Not yet Zala, not yet.
Zala keeps trying to improve his position.
Dunlap throwing strikes but missing.
Dunlap slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Zala fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Dunlap avoids it really well and circles away.

Dunlap bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Dunlap is chipping away with strikes.
Dunlap is looking to take a break and control but Zala is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Zala wants to control but Dunlap is having none of it.
Zala really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dunlap. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Dunlap looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Dunlap tries to control but Zala wriggling away.
Dunlap takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Zala is desperately trying to improve his position but Dunlap has a good base and remains in mount.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Dunlap stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
No luck for Zala with that takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zala tries to close the distance and clinch but Dunlap swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Dunlap really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Dunlap wants to stand but Zala has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Zala has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dunlap is working away from the top position though.
Zala is breathing heavily.
Dunlap wants to control but Zala is keeping him busy.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Jere Dunlap just wasn't active enough.
Zala shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dunlap as he jumps to the side.
Zala shoots in for a double leg but Dunlap sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Dunlap closes the distance and clinches.
Dunlap is trying to break the clinch but Zala is controlling him.

Zala fails to pull guard.
Dunlap fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Dunlap gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Well, if Dunlap is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Dunlap cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Dunlap scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Zala?
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Dunlap content just to control the position here.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jere Dunlap dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Dunlap manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Zala on his heels. He'll look to pass Zala's guard now, I'm sure.
Dunlap will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Zala had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Dunlap defends it easily.

Dunlap is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

You can see the frustration on Zala's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Dunlap works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Dunlap is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Zala can do to turn this around?

Dunlap wants to stand but Zala is controlling his arm.
Dunlap is staying tight to Zala's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Zala gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Dunlap is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Zala has managed to escape the submission attempt.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Zala tries to lock up and control but Dunlap gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jere Dunlap showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dunlap, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
