The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomez tries to land a front kick but Shephere steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Shephere will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Gomez ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Gomez lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Shephere backs up against the cage.
Gomez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Gomez looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Shephere gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Shephere tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Gomez is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Shephere buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Shephere!! Shephere is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Gomez throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.
