Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Bellator (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leighton Matias (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bellator comes to the cage accompanied by A Lesson Never Learned. Matias has chosen Killing In The Name as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Bellator!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Leighton Matias!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matias takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Bellator misses with a takedown attempt - Matias sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Matias has taken the fight to the clinch.

Bellator lands a takedown into guard.
Bellator postures up in Matias's guard and throws a big left but Matias blocks it.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Matias closes the distance and clinches.
Matias using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Bellator has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Matias unloads a knee to the mid-section. Bellator lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Bellator is breathing heavily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Matias is pressed up against the cage. Bellator has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Matias down to the mat. Matias avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Bellator. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Matias is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Bellator wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Matias throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Bellator throws out a loose jab but Matias uses good head movement to avoid it.
Matias scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Matias looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bellator has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Matias finds it's way round the side to connect with Bellator's head.

Matias steps into range and cracks Bellator with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Bellator flops backwards and Matias dives into his guard looking to finish!

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Matias with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Matias throws a strike but Bellator rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
