Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Saint Bernard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stevie Hinch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Stevie Hinch was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Saint Bernard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Stevie Hinch!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, John Mangel and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hinch misses with a takedown
and Bernard counters with a big head kick but Hinch shrugs it off.
Bernard throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Hinch fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Bernard pushes Hinch up against the cage in a clinch.
Bernard landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Hinch avoiding damage as Bernard throws knees to the body.

Hinch breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Crunch! Bernard slams his shin into Hinch's torso.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hinch shoots in but no luck this time.
Saint Bernard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stevie Hinch.
Bernard connects with a high kick.


It looks like Stevie Hinch has been cut.
Nice body kick there by Bernard.
Bernard looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Hinch gets the takedown into side control.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Hinch thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Bernard is trying to get back to his feet.
Bernard knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hinch on the ground.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Hinch is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Bernard is trying to escape and Hinch transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Bernard is forced to tap! Nice work there by Hinch! Very nice indeed!
