The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bdp throws a low kick but it's checked well by Garner.

Garner drives through with a takedown into Bdp's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Garner wants to pass the guard but Bdp is keeping the position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Ash Garner hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Bdp has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Garner is trying to keep an underhook but Bdp manages to get the takedown into half guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
