Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matteo Vitali (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kim Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vitali comes to the cage accompanied by Amaranthe - The Nexus. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Jorge Garcia and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Smith looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Smith avoids the body shot from Vitali.
Vitali looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Vitali misses with a body shot.
Smith is looking to clinch.
Smith moves to clinch but Vitali breaks away
and Vitali counters with a right hand to the body.
Smith closes the distance looking to clinch
and Vitali counters by clinching up.
Vitali scores with a shoulder strike.
Vitali holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Vitali can't find room to land a body shot as Smith controls the action.
Vitali manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Vitali escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Smith tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Vitali holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Vitali is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Smith is defending well.
Nice body punch from Smith - that landed with a thud.
Vitali has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Smith regains guard immediately.
Smith had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Vitali defends it easily.
Vitali trying to control but Smith is working from the bottom.
Vitali is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Smith tries to strike from the bottom.
Smith has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Vitali postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Vitali avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Vitali has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Smith tries to close the distance and clinch but Vitali swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Smith takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Smith closes the distance but Vitali moves to the side
and Vitali counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Smith is rocked!
Smith wants to clinch
and Vitali counters with a huge left! Smith is in big trouble! He's backing up but Vitali isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Smith from any more damage. A dominating finish by Vitali!
